Ancona made a great start

Easter holidays are over and now the European Masters Athletics Championship starts under the sun of Mache (region of Ancona).
It was a busy day for the LOC on Monday because many athletes arrived to receive the welcome bag, the bib number, and the accreditation card.

Gioseppe Scorzoso and his team had the experience of the Indoor Chamiponships of 2009 and improved the events and the procedure together with the data processing team of SIGMA.
There will be some difficulties because of a huge amount of entries in pole pault and indoor race walking but Helena Maria Pires de Carvalho – responsible as Technical Manager of EMA – and Nicola Maggio – General Coordinator of LOC – are positively thinking to solve this situation.

The athletes are very motivated to share the hospitality of masters athletics among the representatives from 41 European countries.

First day – first record – this honour belongs to Jean Claude Demarque from the France in M70 – his time 2:27,70 min in 800m race.
He will run the 1500m as well – strong and ambitious to beat the next record.
