In the European Masters Athletics Festival in Ancona the women of Germany won with 8377 and the men of Spain with 7987 points. The points were calculated in the age categories W60 and M60.
World and European Record
Once again, Spanish athletes set international records. José Vicente Rioseco Lopez ran a new M80 world best in the 800m in a fantastic 2:43.67, improving on the previous world record set by Canada’s Earl Fee in 2010 by almost nine seconds. Jose Vincente’s compatriot Manuel Alonso Domingo improved his own M85 European indoor record over 3000m by almost 7 seconds to 14:45.48.
