Before her run, Melita sighed: “Even at 91, I still get excited before a race!” There was no nervousness to be seen in Melitta’s run She ran the four indoor laps consistently and with admirable posture and step length. After crossing the finish line, the entire running group congratulated her on her world record and admired her: She had improved the old world record of Mary Norckauer by almost two minutes. A sensational achievement!
Melitta: “Now I hope that my legs will recover by Saturday so that I can also give my best in the 1500 m.”

The fourth day of competition at the EMACI on Wednesday surprised not only with a world record, but also with other excellent final results in the shot put, triple jump and pole vault, where for example the multiple world record holder Wolfgang Ritte surprised with a pole vault height of 3.60 m shortly before his 70th birthday. Outdoors at the throwing facilities, the women competed for their medals in the discus throw. In the evening, the 3000m runs of the men from M65 onwards started.
