With less than four months to go, entries are now open for the European Masters Athletics Championships Non Stadia to be held in Grosseto, Italy, on 12-15 May 2022. Registrations will be possible until Sunday 1st May, so for about 90 days. Road running (5km, 10km and half-marathon), race walking (10 km, women’s 20 km and men’s 30 km) and nordic walking are included in this event organized by the sports association Track & Field Master Grosseto and European Masters Athletics with the support of the Municipality of Grosseto. The online entry system is available from the website www.grosseto2022.com using the OpenTrack platform.
“We are pleased to host another important international athletics competition”, said Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna, Mayor of Grosseto, and his deputy and councilor for sports Fabrizio Rossi. “Grosseto and its municipal area offer great logistical and climatic conditions above all for the organization of similar events. The invitation to the athletes is to take this great opportunity to return to sports activities, discovering also our city and our Maremma area”.
“At the moment we have already received the first entries – explains Ernesto Croci, President of the Local Organizing Committee – and this gives us hope. We know that among athletes there is a great desire to compete, especially in this difficult period due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, the LOC is continuing to organize every single aspect of the event in order to be ready to welcome people in the best possible way”.
Athletes will compete between the sports center in via Mercurio and the Sandro Pertini park in viale Giotto, the streets of the historic center of Grosseto and the Le Marze camping which will host nordic walking enthusiasts.
