Next Year Portugal will be the centre of Masters Athletics.
EMA Council and the Portuguese Athletics Federation is proud to present the City of BRAGA as the host
city of the next indoor championships.
The new ALTICE Forum in BRAGA is a multiple event arena that hosts many international
competitions, fairs and concerts.
For EMACI2020 a six lane track will be installed to offer best conditions for our championship.
The arena will be used for national athletics competitions as well after our event.
Close to the arena you can directly enter the stadium and the throwing fields.
The bidding team of EMA did the inspection in detail and was positivly impressed by the excellent
preparation of this meeting.
EMA Indoor Manager Moreno Beggio, General Secretary Helena Maria Pires de Carvalho and
EMA President Kurt Kaschke met the representatives of the city – Dr. Maria Sameiro Macedo Araújo,
of FAP – José Joaquim Nunes Costa, of AAB – Manuel Pacheco and Richard Vale, of IPDJ – Inácio Anjos,
of LOC Treasurer – Silvio Granja, of the City Hall Veredador – Joao Correira and the cooprdinator of
the event – Miguel Caldas.
The contract of EMA and the procedure to prepare the championship was discussed in details.
At the end all partners agreed to host the next EMACI Championships:
15th March – 21st March 2020 – Sunday to Saturday
On March 22nd the City of Braga will offer a 1/2 Marathon for those who like to stay a bit longer in the
North of Portugal – EMA will be involved in a friendship 1/2 Marathon Relay of 4 x 5,2k.
Transportation from Porto Airport to BRAGA will be organised by busses and the City of Braga will offer
their local public bus service for all athletes and visitors.
