European athletes broke 30 records at the WMA Championships in Malaga, 18 world records and 12 European records. In total, 33 world records have been improved throughout the Championships.
Britain’s Evaun Williams set W80 world bests in the hammer, javelin, throw pentathlon and broke a European record in the weight throw.
Among the most versatile athletes was the Austrian Marianne Maier, W75. She improved listed W75 word records for shot put, heptathlon and 80m hurdles.
The Norwegian Arid Busterud (M70) bettered two world records, setting new world marks for weight throw and throw pentathlon.
From Europe, British athletes improved most records with seven world records and four European records.
