A sunny and pleasant day welcomed the 230 participants to the European Master Marathon Championship Funchal 2023, a "restart" of this event after a six-year break following the first edition held in Wroclaw in 2017. A big success for E.M.A. and for the Organisers of ARAM, as almost 2000 runners (230 Masters, 300 in the open marathon, 700 in the half marathon and 600 in the mini marathon) took part to this running day. The winners overall: Jack Nixon (GBR) with the score of 2h27'59" and Maria Mercedes Pila (ESP) with 2h52'11", while in the "older" categories the heroes were Tan Siew (SUI - W75) with 5h37'39" and Gregorio Sablone (SUI - M85) with 5h23'59". At the end of the award ceremony the EMa flag passed form Egidio Olim, AARAM President, to Walentina Fedjuschina, EMA President, and to the Organisers of the next edition of the European Masters Marathon Championship year 2025), the Finnish City of Jyväskylä.
