Grosseto, Italy will host the European Masters Athletics Championships Non Stadia in 2022. “We are truly happy to be back in Italy – commented Kurt Kaschke, EMA President – and especially in Grosseto. Here athletics is always important and the city is ready to host again EMACNS, seven years after. We have good memories from 2015 edition. Now we are confident to have a successful event, although in these difficult times. We hope that in one-year time, in 2022, it will be the first post-pandemic international championships on the road for masters and an enjoyable happening”.
It will be the 18th edition for this event. Bidding was promoted by local club Track and Field Master Grosseto, led by Ernesto Croci, that proposed four days of competitions at the first week of May. The announcement was made at a press conference in the City Hall, attended also by Gerardo Vaiani Lisi, EMA Vice-President and Treasurer, with Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna, Mayor of Grosseto, and Fabrizio Rossi, City Councilor for Sports, alongside Alessandro Alberti, President of Regional Committee for Italian Athletics Federation.
