The Masters athletics community mourns the passing of Helena Carvalho, former European Masters Athletics (EMA) General Secretary, longtime Manager for European and World Masters Athletics, and a cherished friend to the Masters family.
Helena was defined by her extraordinary generosity, optimism, and total dedication.
Her knowledge and experience significantly shaped the growth of Masters athletics worldwide. Even through her final days, Helena remained ready to supporting the upcoming Masters championships in Daegu and Râșnov.
In recognition of her service and dedication, Helena was appointed of the World Masters Athletics (WMA) Bronze Pin, which was prepared for presentation in Daegu. Though we were unable to bestow this honor in person, her profound impact on our sport remains forever acknowledged.
We extend our deepest condolences to her partner, Jorge, and her entire family during this difficult time.
