Jaume Ferret reports a world record and a European record by two Spaniards on 20 and 21 March.
On his 85th birthday, 21/3/2021, Manuel Alonso Domingo ran the 800m in 3:08.06 to improve the indoor world record in his new age category M85 by almost 3 seconds. So he gave himself a nice birthday present. He improved the previous world record of the famous Earl Fee from Canada, who held the 800m indoor world records in the age groups M70 – M90.
The day before, on 20/3/2021, athlete James Atten Fernandez (M45) set a new European indoor record in the 400m at Gallur Track in Madrid with 50.66 sec. The time of the previous record holder Juan Luis Lopez Anaya (ESP) was 50.72.
