EMA EUROPEAN MASTERS MOUNTAIN RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Only two weeks to the entry deadline and only one month to go for the next EMA great Event: the European Masters Mountain Running Championships Janske Lazne 2019.
It is time to send your registration and to finalize your training.
The experienced organising staff (Maratonstav Upice organized three non stadia European championships, and European and world mountain running championships) will offer you a first class event: a beautiful uphill course, good services (bag service, free cableway), free party, cultural program, rich souvenirs, Spa, open races for the accompanying people, and more.
Natural and gastronomic beauties will contribute to make your stay unforgettable. Indeed Janske Lazne and its surroundings are a beautiful area with so many points of naturalistic, historical and cultural interest.
We want to unveil some of them, starting with the spa, located in the middle of the small town.
In 1935, drawing on experience gained in the Warm Springs spa in the USA, the first sanatorium for treating polio was founded here. Thanks to the important curative resource consisting of carbonated thermal spring water at a temperature of 27°C and rehabilitation methods applied here, the spa became a place where the health of many people suffering from the most serious diseases of the locomotive apparatus and the central and peripheral nervous system can be improved and even completely restored. The wonderful neo-Renaissance colonnade with art nouveau ornamentation; the park with its pleasant paths, delightful small cafés and chalets in the forest – all this makes for an unforgettable experience while visiting Janské Lázně. Nowadays more than 30 thermal springs in Janské Lázné are waiting for you.
Another unmissable attraction is the tree-crowning trail, built on the outskirts of Janské Lázně in the Krkonoše Mountains. The viewing tower, which offers views of the surrounding trees and Janske Lazne, is 45 meters high, the horizontal part of the trail is at a height of 24 meters.
On the tree-lined trail you will reach 1,511 meters, downhill can be reached by the water slide.
The building is completely barrier-free and adrenalin lovers will also come here – for example, a dry toboggan run through the viewing tower. Adrenaline attractions, where both children and adults will try their courage and skill.
