More than 350 masters, divided in two different groups, started on Sunday 26 of May to reach the top of the beautiful Cerna Hora (Black Mountain) and win the title of European mountain running master champion. The uncertain weather (with sun and rain) was not a problem for the athletes from 17 different countries. The best performances were registered by Kerstin Esterlechner (Germany 49’08”) and Edwin Singer (Germany 41’39”). In his final speech tbe EMA Vice President Jean Thomas addressed his thanks to the President of the LOC mr. Karel Skliba, to the Municipalities and to all the volunteeres. He invited also all the athletes to the next edition of the Championships which will take place in March 2020 in the beautiful island of Madeira. The ceremony ended with the passage of the EMA flag to mr. Policarpo Gouveia, President of the Madeira Athletics Association.
