There is less than a month left to the opening ceremony of the European Masters Athletics Championships in the province of Venice, Italy, with record-breaking figures. Athletes from 43 European countries are awaited in the 21st edition at Jesolo, Caorle and Eraclea from 5 to 15 September. It is the highest number ever in the continental stadia event, one more than eleven years ago in Ljubljana, where 42 countries took part in the competition.
Many athletes are also announced from a dozen of extra-European countries, that will take advantage of the “open” nature of the championships, obviously not competing for the titles. It will be another major milestone for European Masters Athletics, with thousands of athletes ready to share some great moments.
