The Romanian masters’ national championships reunited 230 competitors in Bucharest stadium “Iolanda Balas” during the week-end 25-26 August. The championships have been seen as a last major test before the Malaga WMACS and also the Balkan championships in Celje, Slovenia.
Adrian Neagu, the Aarhus European champion in the M60 long jump celebrated his M65 debut equaling the world record with a performance of 5.47m and his mind must be set to improving that in Malaga. Five other Balkan records and thirty one national records were set/beaten during the two days competition. Most popular events were the 100m, 400m and 5000m runs.
