After breaking the M85 indoor world record at 800m, clocking 3:08:06 on 21 March (beating Earl Fee’s previous best of 3:11:09 set in March 2014 in Hungary), Spain’s Alonso did it again on the track of Gallur in Madrid and at the Masters Club Cup that took place on Saturday, 27.03.2021: He established the new M85 indoor world record in the 1500m with a time of 6:28.30.

The previous record was 6:38:87, held by the legendary Ed Whitlock. Manuel Alonso Domingo has been breaking records and achieving milestones for years. He is a seven-time world champion and 10-time European champion. In his career he has already achieved 16 world records.

Jaume Ferret, member of EMA statistician group: „We can say it was a wonderful weekend for him.“

But that was not all. On Sunday he finished the 3000m in 14:45.58 to set a new (pending) M85 indoor European record.
