The curtains have closed on the 2026 European Masters Athletics Championships Indoor (EMACI) in Toruń, Poland, and the verdict is unanimous: it was a triumph of athleticism, organization, and spirit. From March 27th to April 2nd, the world-class Arena Toruń played host to almost 4000 athletes, marking a success for the LOC and the first major milestone for European Masters Athletics (EMA) in this calendar year, with 33 world and european new records!
Entering 2026, the expectations for Toruń were high. As the inaugural flagship event of the season, EMACI was the “litmus test” for the new year’s competitive standards. Both the EMA and the LOC rose to the occasion, delivering a seamless experience that honored the dedication of our Master athletes.
While the final medal counts tell one story, the true success lay in the depth of performance across all age categories.
The success of Toruń 2026 provides a powerful momentum as we move forward into the summer season. We extend our deepest gratitude to the City of Toruń, the volunteers, the officials, and most importantly, the athletes who traveled from every corner of the continent to make this event a resounding success.
