emac_venezia2019_rThe province of Venice will host the European Masters Athletics Championships 2019, as decided today by EMA General Assembly in Ancona. It will be the 21st edition of the continental event and will involve Jesolo (Armando Picchi Stadium), Caorle (Giovanni Chiggiato Stadium) and Eraclea (Municipal Stadium) for all the track competitions, from 5 to 15 September 2019. It is expected the participation of thousands of athletes “over 35” from 40 European countries.

Also half-marathon (Jesolo), road race walking and cross country (Caorle) will be contested. Besides sports facilities, the three towns of the Venetian coast bet even on the tourist and cultural aspects characteristic of the place: a worldwide known area for the beauty of its lagoon, able to welcome visitors in a unique setting. To present the bid: Vito Vittorio, general manager of the bidding Committee, and Sergio Baldo, FIDAL Council member. For the fourth time the European Masters Athletics Championships will be held in Italy: after the inaugural edition of Viareggio 1978, the previous ones are Verona 1988 and Cesenatico 1998, while the next will be in Aarhus (Denmark) 2017 that will pass the baton to Veneto.
