W75/M75 world records in heptathlon and decathlon in Stendal (GER)

    At the 7th STENDALER-HANSE-CUP (1 to 2 July 2019) two world records fell in the Combined Events. Riet Jonkers-Slegers from the Netherlands improved the world record W75 in the heptathlon to 6870 points. Rolf Geese set a world record in the decathlon M75 with 8538 points. The event was attended by 90 athletes from 14 nations. Including Geraldine Finegan and Rosemary Gibson from Ireland in decathlon.

    World records have become a tradition at the STENDALER-HANSE-CUP. The two world records were the numbers 10 and 11.

    Riet Jonkers-Slegers from the Netherlands set the basis for the world record in the 80m hurdles in 17.73 seconds with 1182 points and finished the heptathlon at temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius with an admirable 3:12.73 seconds in the 800m run. She beat the world record set by the Austrian Marianne Maier in 2018 by 212 points.

    Rolf Geese (GER) achieved a strong improvement of the world record in decathlon M75 with 8538 points. He improved the previous world record of the American Robert Hewitt from 2008 by 628 points.
