WORLD MASTERS ATHLETICS (WMA): “The Age Grade Update Committee used millions of performances to establish the factors for each event at each age for men and women. They also compared the factors with performances by individual athletes over many decades of competition to confirm that factors were valid.
The Five-Year Age Graded Tables are for calculating points for combined events. The One-Year Age Graded Tables are for calculating age graded performances and percentages for each age in all WMA Events.”
Example for demonstration, calculated by A.H: Pentathlon
In 2020, Dutchman Wim Threels improved the M65 world record in the pentathlon
(LJ JT 200m DT 1500)
M65 4072e Threels Wim NED 260252 Stendal/GER 270920 World R
LJ – JT – 200m – DT – 1500m
504 – 3847 – 27.49 – 33,37 – 5.40.12
972 – 739 – 881 – 641 – 839
According to the proposed table, Wim Threels would achieve only 3830 points with his performances instead of 4072:
925 – 714 – 856 – 561 – 774 Combined Event Score: 3830
